"IdeaJacked" – The Book

In the early 1990s when Pat Kennedy and his team at Cellport Systems patented a way to connect mobile phones to automobiles for universal hands-free and other applications, they were onto something big. Expecting business opportunities to pour in, they instead entered a decade-long battle against a who’s who of global companies that repeatedly stole their ideas, made counterfeit products, and tried to put them out of business. IdeaJacked is Pat Kennedy’s illuminating and often entertaining story of how Cellport out-maneuvered its brazen competitors, managed to survive, and eventually built a patent portfolio, which launched a $5 billion market. Kennedy uses his story to expose the growing IdeaJacking problem, discuss its immense implications on businesses and national economies, and to raise awareness of the need for a new focus on ethical trade--not just free trade agreements--between countries.
